I'm working on my 1st first authored paper and a few of my own projects related to empathy in online sexual harrassment, gun control attitudes, and mental health.

Time for an #introduction:

Hello! My name is Brad Irish; I'm an associate professor of #English at Arizona State University. I study #earlymodern / #Renaissance English literature, with a special focus on the #history of #emotion. I'm also really interested in #affectivescience.

My first monograph was on various forms of emotion in the #Tudor #Court. More recently, I wrote a book on #Shakespeare and Disgust that will be coming out this March; I'm now working on a book project about envy and jealousy in early modern #literature. I also run the website www.earlymodernemotion.net, which contains user-populated bibliographies of primary and secondary sources related to emotions in Renaissance England.

I should also say that I was just diagnosed with #Autism a few months ago, so I also sometimes talk about the new things I'm learning about myself and the way my brain works.
