I just finished reading “Life Sentence: The Brief and Tragic Career of Baltimore’s Deadliest Gang Leader”, by Mark Bowden.

and oh mama. a very good one.

the ending scares the shit out me though, based on recent SCOTUS decisions to overturn affirmative action, very specifically education (the most important tool to fight violence and poverty in urban America).
