🇺🇸 Despite blaming #Western_sanctions for making it #difficult to #export grains from #Moscow, Russian #President_Vladimir_Putin suggests the Black Sea grain deal — which Russia exited in July — could be #revived, so long as certain conditions are met.

🇹🇷 Speaking with #Turkish #Prime_Minister_Tayyip_Erdogan in Sochi on Monday, Putin, 70, said Russia will “consider the possibility of #reanimating the grain deal…as soon as all the agreements on #lifting #restrictions on the export of Russian #agricultural products are #fully_implemented."

The initiative, which was #brokered by the #United_Nations (UN) with #Turkey, Russia, and #Ukraine in July 2022, #allowed Ukraine to safely export #life_saving grain #supplies through the Black Sea #amid the ongoing #war between the latter two nations.

Erdogan, who — alongside the #UN — #advocated for Putin not to exit the grain deal earlier this summer, claimed Turkey will help Russia in a new deal it is implementing with #less_developed #African countries if it complies.

Turkey’s leader also suggested Ukraine “soften its approach towards Russia” and “take mutual steps” to cooperate with its neighbouring country.
