@cymaphore The idea is to build a low tech and low cost infrastructure with no licence required. CB radios are available for free or little money, TNCs can be built from #Arduino or other #microcontrollers or even via software (soundmodem). I think #afsk is maybe old, slow and outdated but it is what all this modems have in common. Better to have a common ground for all than something "better" only a few understand.

I find it very disturbing there are unused frequencies, especially such "hackable" as 27MHz.
