All I know about this is from #agadmator and I kind of like the two classes. Women may and do participate in open events. There is no men's event if you ignore the fact that there are only few women among the top 100 rated players.
The women events are there to create a safe space where they don't have to deal with toxic behavior of some male players. What's so disastrous about that?
