Sajid Javid considers 66 quid a nominal fee to attend A&E? The real issue is that we have an ageing population. Older people are much more likely to have chronic health conditions that require ongoing medication & healthcare. Yet this population is also more likely to have lower incomes (although more likely to own fixed assets as in homes) and qualify for free prescriptions.
