Hmm… LOL?
“Asked by The Stack discreetly at the end of a standing room-only session in #Amsterdam how many gameservers #PlayStation had running in production on #Kubernetes + #Agones (something the talk rather studiously avoided) Irving told us that the answer was, indeed, “none” but that PlayStation had hopes of making the shift.”

Dedicated game servers are the backbone of all those wonderful online multiplayer video games we all know and love. The open source project Agones is a cloud native dedicated game server platform that runs on Kubernetes. In this blog I go through how to get it up and running on OpenShift using Helm. Long live open source!

Don't mind me, I'm just using Cloud Deploy's new multi-target feature to deploy #Agones (OSS game server orchestration)
game servers to all of my GKE clusters in a singular region, then roll them out region by region, so I have a global game server footprint 🌏👣
🤔 Have you wanted to run #Agones (Open Source game server orchestration) on GKE Autopilot?
🧑✈️ DO WE HAVE A RELEASE FOR YOU! 🧑✈️
We're also supporting multiple #Kubernetes versions now - to give you more flexibility in your deployments! 💪

An amazing #gamedev case study from the Google Cloud Japan Games team ➡️
Nintendo: Building a new general-purpose game server using Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Spanner, etc.
🎮 Including how they run #agones on GKE to power their game server workload 🎮

Super happy that my talk on #opensource solutions for multiplayer game server orchestration as well as communication authentication, access control and observability with #agones and #quilkin (on #kubernetes of course 😃) was accepted to #GDC22
Looking forward to seeing everyone at GDC in a couple of months!

If you use #Agones (https://agones.dev) for game server orchestration, or might look to do so in the future, we're looking for your opinion.
Should we continue building Release Candidate releases? Do you test with them?
You input would be appreciated in the Github issue below 👇
Intro time, #hachyderm. I’m Zach, a software engineer at Google. I’ve been hacking in and around #gke for 8 years as a founding member, and involved in Kubernetes early on. Somewhere in there I remember intersecting briefly with @nova, but heck if I can remember when (kops maybe?). My new focus is #agones and making GKE a platform for games workloads. I am also a father, a reef keeper, and a nerd. This will likely be professional/developer stuff, if I remember to actually post anything!
