As a member of the EU Commission's focus group on #FarmlandBiodiversity, this week I had the opportunity to participate in an inspiring meeting in France with 19 fellow experts.
We exchanged experience, visited local farms and discussed various aspects of high-diversity landscape features in support of sustainable #agriculture, #pollinators and healthy #agroecosystems.
I'm glad to become a part of such a fantastic team for a 1-year collaboration and potentially beyond.. 😊

New review paper by Martin Hartmann & Johan Six: Soil structure and microbiome functions in #agroecosystems
System-level #agricultural management practices can induce structural alterations to the #soil, thereby changing the microbial processes. These changes have large-scale consequences, such as soil erosion, reduced soil fertility and increased #greenhouse gas emissions.
Sustainable approaches eek to improve soil structure and enhance microbial #biodiversity.
