The Bound sequel is going to be the first time I intentionally write a story from the ground up as a growth-centered story.

Writing a one-line summary without a central conflict is /weird/.

Here's what I have so far:
When a secret is revealed, two enemies must stand together or see their home destroyed by infighting.

Planting Life in a Dying City

Friends knowing each other only by family name.

Personal names are intensely private. As in 'gifting' ones name to a prospective spouse is part of the courtship process level private.

Usually only family and sometimes very close friends will know someone's personal name. And they will only use it in private.

Instead, friends give each other use-name or nicknames, usually based around some prominent characteristic. Laughing-one, flame-hair-one, guarding-one, gruff-one, gold-eyed-one, and quiet-one are all possible use-names.

Some use-names will be common, but sometimes friends will have use-names they only use with/for each other.

The Bargain

All the fucking time. Both of them. Sometimes twice a day.

Look, I understand better than most about taking your anger and fear out on someone who doesnt' deserve it, and how seductive it can be.

But that fae bastard and I both know what we're doing when we start swinging. We're both using each other and know it. (And if you ever tell Cook I said that I'll smack /you/.)

Jahlene and Mattin?

Oblivious and constantly taking each other for a ride with it. Mare's Blessing but do I want to smack them.

I can't smack Jahlene anymore. Oh, I can threaten to take her over my knee, but actually hit? Bad for moral in the household.

Mattin?

Not that way. I've given him taps in training sometimes, get his head in the game. But never because of how frustrated I get with him. Boy's been through enough and Cook is always there if I feel like I can't hold it in anymore.

My called carries the weight of the goddes upon him. I will never let him carry the fear of my destruction.

But my called is mine. Only I will escort him to the great darkness, and only when /he/ is ready to depart this world.

Finally putting together a clear understanding of my story structures and how I write has given me the kick in the ass to make some changes.

The most obvious changes are in my website. The basic design has stayed the same, but I've changed the name and some of the imagery (as in, the website now HAS imagery).

And the webserials have an actual title.

In general, I'm leaning into the gryphon imagery. It started as a fun little thing, but I LIKE gryphons and I like monsters-as-metaphor

(I'm not ready to call myself a furry, but definitely leaning in that direction these days.)

Mostly, it's branding stuff that's changing at the moment. Will see what happens in the future.

One change will directly impact my Fedi stuff -- I'm going to try hashtagging anything that links to my fiction with #AGryphonsTale so folks can follow or mute as they prefer.
