I think that the ādeath of historyā op-ed in the NY Times reflects our collective state of mind about academic history. But itās a much broader field and I feel itās becoming more (not less) professionalized. Small historical societies and museums, for instance, digital, media. Imho #AHA23 showed remarkable vitality. I wonder what fellow @histodons thinkā Iām often in the āhalf fullā side of things.
