@CMRosens Highly recommend. I'm liking the #PoppyWar series as audiobooks that I listen to in the kitchen while cooking etc, but it's going slowly as I've been ill and can't spend as long in the kitchen (!) as I used to. But the narrator is excellent, which is sadly not always the case. As for #AHalfBuiltGarden, it's going on the list with the #BeckyChambers oeuvre as enjoyable and provocative speculative futures. Especially recalls the Monk and Robot series, though it's slightly more science-y and less cozy, but with similar vibes.

A story of alien first contact in a future where social structures are defined by river networks. Decisions are made by community consensus aided by algorithms. The protagonists are a trans, queer, Jewish polyamorous couple. Basically take everything that would make conservative voters scream and mix it into a beautifully literary sci-fi novel.

I have begun reading #AHalfBuiltGarden by Ruthana Emrys. Loving the depiction of a federated network being used in community decision making. It really makes me think about how to better curate my Mastodon feed!
