I watched #FallingDown (1993) over the weekend. #MichaelDouglas plays an #obsessiveCompulsive character who cracks after a divorce and losing his job. He runs amok eventually leading to his death. Meanwhile the cop and living doormat chasing him (#RobertDuvall), liberates himself through violence towards his wife and a colleagues. Whatever #JoelSchumacher was trying to say is muddled by the sensational presentation and was ultimately better told in #Cronenberg's #AHistoryOfViolence (2005).

Remembering #WilliamHurt (1950-2022), the versatile Oscar / BAFTA-winning American film, stage and television actor, born in Washington D.C. #OnThisDay. His film debut was as the latter-day mad scientist in Ken Russell's #AlteredStates (1980) and he excelled as, among others, the not-so-smart lawyer in #BodyHeat (1981), the mob boss in Cronenberg's #AHistoryOfViolence (2005) and the terrorised hit man in Stephen King adaptation 'Battleground' from #NightmaresAndDreamscapes (2006).
