I enjoyed being on this panel on "impact computing" or #AIforSocialImpact at the "Harvard Data Science Initiative"
annual conference last week. We attempted to define this new field, and a key emerging point is that social impact is itself a first class objective in #AIforSocialImpact; its not just about AI research.
