A new variety of the Iris family species Ainea conzattii has been described from temperate grassland habitat near Tepelmeme Villa de Morelos in northern Oaxaca, Mexico. Other populations of A. conzattii have inner tepals that are far smaller than the outer ones (A); in the new variety the inner and outer tepals are about the same size (B). I’m delighted that experienced botanists Carlos Martorell, Ana Rosa López-Ferrari, Adolfo Espejo-Serna and Diego García-Meza (@Yeyo0106) gave me the opportunity to collaborate with them on this paper.
