This is a turning point - I just now used this prompt:

"A beautiful young woman in a spacesuit reclining in the cockpit of a fantastically futuristic spacecraft."

And, FOR THE BLOODY FIRST TIME EVER, not all of the women were white women. There were at least two who looked vaguely Asian.

They must be tweaking the datasets.

I shall keep prodding it. Who knows, maybe one day it'll respond to 'beautiful woman' with a black woman?

Just tried the same with #StarWars a couple of times and nope, not as good in terms of diversity.

AHA!! omg, this makes me happy!

#Midjourney FINALLY gave me an image with some #BIPOC representation and I didn't specifically ask.

I'm attributing it to the fact I asked it for #StarTrek !

This was the prompt:

"The crew of a new Star Trek show all standing in line on an alien world, a desert environment"

Which gave:

It is *so hard* getting #Midjourney to generate anything featuring #BIPOC.

I have to jump though all sorts of clumsy prompts.

It's much happier just giving the generic "white people in everything, all the time."

This really makes me question the datasets it's been aimed at.

I'm also trying to get it to do disabled people but, fuck me, that is even harder :(
