State sen. Aisha Wahab says her office was flooded with dozens of hateful calls, hundreds of emails, and individuals yelling at staff in her district office after she introduced the legislation last week.

In the east bay, we're seeing a distinct win for progressive candidates. Where conservatives or center-right candidates managed to win (such as school board races) it was always against center-left or absolute centrist candidates. I think the combination of a lack of a red wave + midterm apathy from centrists meant this was a time for progressive candidates to shine.
