If you're using DuckDuckGo on Firefox or a Firefox-derived browser on Android, make sure that the Dark Reader addon is disabled for DDG. I just found out that it was the source of the big slowdown when trying to do searches.

Now I'm back on DuckDuckGo for my searches, and I don't have to put up with Brave search's bizarre and disturbing AI suggestions.
