Just spent a fruitful time recovering an #archive of #tunes I recorded in a #bygone age of #Atari 1040 running #Cubase #MIDI only synced to an #Akai rackmount multitrack.

I think I will release them! Better stuff than I thought!

Fave #plan right now is to release them as 'singles' with a #refurbished so to speak A side and the original from the archive on the B side.

When they're all done will release them on an album together, the title of which is 'so cunning' that I am not telling! 😁

I just picked up this #akai #s2000 the other day for $60. It's in an unknown condition, but powers on and asked for a start-up disk. I'm going to do whatever cleaning and repairing it needa then it's going to a friend to make tunes with.

Spent the night trying to get my head around the Akai Tom Cat drum machine. It, um, does not play nicely with the Beatstep Pro.

I got just about everything sorted except for the toms, which, you know, are kind of the whole point of the thing.

It's a lot of fun to play with, but I wish Akai had made even a cursory effort at documentation.

Here's a fun thing: if you use a #PiHole for #DNS in your network, an #Akai #MPC won't authenticate its plugins. I need to look at the logs more but it appears to be if Google Analytics is blocked, so not even just phoning home.

I have distinctly mixed feelings about Moog being absorbed into inMusic. It's sad that it's not a little family run, employee-owned business any more. But inMusic also own Akai which means the minimoog/MPC hybrid of my dreams is a step closer to reality...

I have an AKAI MPK mini MIDI controller keyboard that I am using with GarageBand on my MackBook Pro (Intel).

I am trying to figure out how to map the knobs and drum pads on the MIDI controller to meaningful things in GarageBand. I've searched on the net, and it says, plug it in and "it should just work", and it just doesn't.

First time this beast has seen daylight in 30 years. Packed up for a move back-in-the-day, around the time we got into CDs.

Powers up, spins right, now to print out a speed calibration chart, give it a good clean up, and look for a new cartridge/stylus 'cause I don't think the original will have aged well. Who knows, I'll try them anyway :) AKAI AP-Q41/C

Tercer dia amb el meu EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) i ja m'he atrevit a gravar un troç d'un standard de jazz. Potser d'aquí poc m'animo a fer una improvització.

L'he configurat com un saxo tenor, tant la digitació com la transposició. No he tocat mai un saxo de veritat però suposo que això és més fàcil.

Van een kameraad een setje KEF-C30 luidsprekers gehad voor mijn vintage begin jaren 80 AKAI toren.
Nu klonken de Jamo Power 155 ook niet verkeerd maar die KEF's zijn echt wel een stap vooruit.
De beste toevoeging sinds de nieuwe naald in de pickup.
Wat kan dat oude spul toch nog geweldig klinken.

Qua uitstraling komt er niets moderns hierbij in de buurt, niet eens close.
En qua geluid hoor ik liever deze dan mijn Pioneer Receiver.
