@dstndstn @Nerdfest I worked for a US Senator for in the 1980s. I had to type the word “Alaska” a lot. I always typed it “Aalska.” My wife still to this day calls it Aalska. I had a friend who worked for Cong. from . She said you could get started typing his name, get stuck, and never be able to stop. Akakakakakakakakak.

Great to hear! Some treat jury service as a barrier to a good time that is to be evaded rather than an opportunity to grow, which brings to mind Data’s decision to treat his problems as challenges to be overcome rather than obstacles to be avoided in ‘Eye of the Beholder’.

As for humorous attempts to avoid jury duty, I recall seeing a 1996 news segment about Barbara Adams turning up for jury selection/duty in a TNG uniform. Funny at the time, but it turns out she was serious about promoting Federation ideals, as can be seen from the interview in Trekkies (6:30-9:50). Seems to me we need more Starfleet fans like her and fewer Klingon wannabees! On an unrelated matter, how is your search for an authentic Bat'leth going? 🖖
