Today I learned the Alaska ballot measure on term limits is likely unconstitutional.

"To the extent that incumbency might be a political evil, the constitution provides a method -- frequent elections -- for discouraging it. If this method should prove to be inadequate, the only way that term limits might be imposed would be a constitutional amendment."

The group trying to roll back our election system has been inflating their contributions through fanciful "in-kind" donations and has oddly incorporated a funding / info arm as a church in Washington.

That means less than you'd think. No candidate has at least 50% of the vote in that race, so on Nov. 23, ranked choice (or instant runoff) voting will kick in. The Democrat in the race, Pat Chesbro, will be eliminated (as will a third Republican and write-ins). Most of the Democratic votes (about 10% of all cast) will go to Murkowski, giving her the win. #akleg #akelect #Alaska
