Farewell to Ronald Blyth, whose writings about his life in the Suffolk countryside with his partner Arthur, and the fictional village of Akenfield, were part of the backdrop of my own life for many years. He died this week aged 100. As a young man he knew and worked with gay writers and artistes like EM Forster, & Benjamin Britten, heroes of mine.
