The Girallon is a monster #Pathfinder borrowed straight of of ERB, specifically out of the John Carter-Mars/Barsoom series. Thus in Pathfinder's analog, it is most commonly associated with #akiton though sightings of Girallons have apparently also occurred in the #Mwangi Expanse. There are even rumors of the Anghazani, an intelligent version of the Girallon, who may inhabit the demon-cursed city of Usaro.
It interests me that the Girallon would likely thrive better in Castrovel's megadendra rainforests than it would in Akiton's thin-air deserts. There is also a more explainable reason for them to be on Castrovel than on Golarion: Qabarat has a known portal connecting the two planets. Could they have once snuck through and adapted to the gravity difference? If so, who is to say they originated on Akiton? Maybe it's the other way around?
