Is Alacritty buggy on Windows? Some issues I encountered include:
- full window refresh (ie - flashes white) when leaving/entering an Alacritty window
- incorrect text rendering, especially when using special characters or complicated strings like regex expressions
- incorrect text/background highlighting when leaving applications like neovim
- (seemingly) slow performance at times compared to Windows Terminal
- unresponsive sessions

Well I have the start of a text alignment engine implemented for #tooey Text elements.
I arrived at the conclusion naturally that the easiest path was to always start by doing a Left justification, then flip the whitespace for Right justification, or normalize whitespace across the rune array for full. I still have to do center which is going to be interesting.

A relatively quiet week of updates for @pop_os_official. Checkout my weekly summary of #PopPackageUpdates over on #lemmy

My current setup is
#alacritty => #tmux + fish/tide on jump host => fish/tide + #neovim on remote host
If you use #alacritty, make sure you have ncurses-term installed on all your systems for the right #terminfo #debian
It seems #Alacritty is finally accepting to support extended keyboard modifier support, which means #Emacs users will get lots of their keybindings also work in Alacritty :allthethings:
Yes, I know, tramp is a thing, tramp makes remote working great again, alright. But keybindings working in terminal as well is a good thing, right? ๐
There are days when you improve your setup and find yourself more in love with it than ever. Today is one of those days ๐

I tried #foot terminal today, it's awesome!
The way how urls are handled reminded me of 'tags' in #nyxt browser.
Very elegant. I will play around and make switch from #alacritty
Another great app that reduces reliance on mouse.
btw. Can't wait for yubikey support in webkit ...
Back to using a terminal emulator instead of a separate TTY and I just found #alacritty. It prints output a lot faster than #konsole so now it's my default terminal emulator
I didn't get the icon so it just looks like this lol
Set #Alacritty as the terminal for #gnuoctave REPL and use a floating window for running #python scripts in #VIM.

I am confused, I am trying to get the title of my #terminal #alacritty to show hostname information when I #ssh into a remote machine. Which part is responsible for this? The terminal, the shell, the prompt? Or something else?
For all whom using #alacritty terminal emulator, get ready to change your config files into TOML

A brief, boring RAM analysis exercise, offering little, if any benefit. ๐

I just shrunk #Alacritty to 1x1px and now it's lost somewhere on the desktop. I can't find it anymore. This wasn't a good idea...
I am currently challenging myself to make better use of my keyboard layout (bone, a variant of #neo2). It has a lot of useful keys in the main keyboard field, and not having to move my hands away is a speed win.
I'm also trying to do more things with the command line, and I'm currently very happy with #alacritty on Windows 10.
Finally managed to automate changing my #alacritty and #helixeditor themes according to the #macOS system theme.
So happy! lol

Whatever the reason, it's super disappointing that #alacritty (v. 0.12) is still almost unusable on Windows.
