I recently found this sealed original Atlantic stereo copy. These can still be found at not-crazy prices.
The man on the cover was a little known Mississippi cotton farmer named Fred McDowell. There are giants among us in this world, and there are some records that are more magic than material.

I went on a spree years ago buying these collections from Rounder Records. He also went to the Caribbean, Ireland, and bunch of other places, but the Southern Journey comps made a big impact.
