New server, new #introduction! I'm a husband, an #Albertan, and a PhD candidate at the University of #Toronto, finishing a dissertation on how (not) to pursue moral improvement through medicine, #virtue #ethics, and #theology.

Earlier this year I helped found #ACCtoo, an advocacy group for survivors of sexual abuse in the Anglican Church of Canada.

In my spare time I cook, read / watch science fiction and fantasy (#SFF), and play dungeons and dragons (#DnD).

So with the steady influx of newly displaced Bird Site refugees it's probably a good time for a welcome and shout-out to my fellow long suffering #Albertan Progressives. If you're having trouble finding your allies my list below is not a bad place to start. I won't add folks unless they ask but is costs nothing and as of today we're on 13 pages(!) of AB or AB-ish Masto handles.

Pixelfed is to Instagram what Mastodon is to Twitter. It is a federation of independent servers focused on sharing photos. Not only that, it uses the same standard ActivityPub protocol as Mastodon so you can follow and interact with @dansup@pixelfed.social (his pixelfed account) even if you are on Mastodon!
