Acxording to the article, from the #NationalPost ,

"In the event that the Alberta assembly passes one of these defensive resolutions, cabinet receives the unilateral delegated power to amend Alberta statutes, rewrite regulations, and issue orders as necessary, on the fly, to deal with the situation."

Giving such powers to the cabinet seems in itself to be sufficient reason that the #ableg should reject the bill.

@alexandre_brassard Probably Premier #DanielleSmith wants Prime Minister #JustinTrudeau to disallow the
#AlbertaSovereigntyAct . Her best chance of winning the next Alberta election is to pick a fight with Ottawa.

As you say, the Act has enough constitutional problems that the courts will probably strike it down.

(Just a minor note, in the past we've mostly been using #canpol as a hashtag on Mastodon.)

I live in Alberta and what's happening makes me worried for all of us here. I don't believe in this so-called Alberta Sovereignty Act. It's a joke. DS's ideology is both a joke and dangerous. Her anti-mask, anti-vaccine, anti-public education, anti-public heathcare... I'm not angry (I used all of that up with Jason Kenney, who is thankfully gone but he left a lot of damage behind him). I'm worried for a very uncertain and unstable future that is ahead of us. #VoteRachel #AlbertaSovereigntyAct

And in other news, the new Alberta Premier, after just debuting in legislature with their first bill, the Sovereignty Act, tells a press conference that the constitution really is all about a separation of powers. Also the Justice Minister talks up the bill saying that it ensure Alberta will be able to assert its jurisdiction.

This will all be done without using the courts. All by motions and cabinet approvals... sorry... I just can't... 🤣🤣🤣
