I'm diving into the 5xLP 'Revelations' boxset : #AlbertAyler's complete ORTF 1970 Fondation Maeght recordings.
Both July 25 and 27, 1970 concerts in their entirety, with two hours of previously unissued material and from a different audio source compared to the Fondation Maeght Shandar releases.

Oh yes - I remember how teenage me sat in a long-gone record store and the lady running it (I was too young, but it was said all her customers were in love with her 😅 ) played that for me the first time. WHOAH! Then to find out those were merely his beginnings and starting to explore the rest of his discography.

The glorious musician Albert Ayler. Maligned as a 2-bit musician in his life by way too many. They said that he and many of the avant-garde jazz musicians were making music that was "too personal." It's the ultimate gaslighting insult. His music is so joyful and uplifting.
He played at John Coltrane's funeral by Coltrane's request.
He killed himself at 34 in 1970.

(Lanin was a saxophonist with Lawrence Welk.)
