“Drinking Bacchus” by Guido Reni (1623). Is it possible that #Bacchus, the god of wine, had trouble breaking down alcohol? Look at the red bumps on his right arm. Hives can be a symptom of #alcoholintolerance. Reni certainly didn’t glorify the effects of alcohol in other aspects of this painting. What do you think?
