The red-legged partridge is native to France, Spain and Portugal, where it's in decline, so the naturalized population in Britain, where it was introduced in the C17th, is important for its conservation. This one is living its best life in woodland behind a Warwickshire farm shop, where fruit, vegetables and bread that are past their sell-by date are put out for the local wildlife to eat.
