@johnwehrle There was a whole bunch of weird identity / identity management stuff floating around at the time (~2011-2012), including the NSTIC (National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace). I'd compiled and discussed a set of articles during the G+ shutdown ... four years ago (how time slogs...):
