Stephen Smith's body was exhumed and a second autopsy was performed in South Carolina over the weekend as part of an investigation into his 2015 homicide, his family's lawyers announced.

Stephen Smith's death is now officially being considered a homicide by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, according to family attorney Eric Bland.
The death was previously classified as vehicular manslaughter.

Alex Murdaugh found guilty on all charges.

It was interesting to hear the judge tell the jury that none of the commentary from lawyers for the defense and prosecution is considered “evidence”.

One reason, is because lawyers are not put under oath, which basically means nothing can stop them from lying.

The prosecution spent almost six weeks giving non-evidentiary commentary, to pursued the jury. (Fabricating a “plausible” story, without actual evidence to prove anything. Ie. Circumstantial evidence” )

The judge also said circumstantial evidence holds the same weight as actual, factual evidence. That is why prosecutors often win cases without a shred of actual evidence.

That is one of the key problems with our justice system, in my opinion.
There is nobody in the justice system tasked with gathering evidence to exonerate a suspect. All evidence, police interviews, photos, video, DNA, etc. is gathered to help convict a suspect.

Consider this.

Murdaugh said Maggie would always sign to encumber real estate. But he also says his family, including Maggie, NEVER knew he was stealing money from his firm or clients.

Maggie's sister mentioned Maggie had mentioned divorce at least once; time unspecified.

Alex was confronted by his firm the morning of the murders & all his lies would come out & it would be unlikely Maggie would continue to bail him out or DID threaten divorce.

That is known as #motive.

*It was a stranger even tho dogs/caged birds didn't alert
*The shooter no taller than 5'2" according to his expert witness
*Killer knew EXACTLY when Maggie & Paul would be onsite
*He consciously lied to 1st responders bec he was paranoid 2º to drugs, altho paranoia usually only lasted few seconds
*He had 1500 mg/d opioid habit/62.5 mg per hr
