"I think the only real promise you can make about #data is that the only truly private data is data you don’t collect to begin with. With that in mind, ... every single data point you collect, you have to ask yourself, 'Is this necessary? Why am I asking for this? Am I asking for this because it is nice to have or I think I might need it one day?' If that’s the answer, maybe you shouldn’t be having that data."
