I was hoping I wouldn’t be pulled into some kind of #algorythm. But sadly there are allmost only messages about the #coronation and the arrest of peaceful #protestors.

YouTube is becoming as bad as TikTok, and maybe even as bad as today's Twitter 😳

The first two videos in the picture I attached I am a subscriber to, so that's understandable to show on the home page for suggestions. But videos suggesting Elon content?! Dafuq?!!

Why is YouTube suggesting content I obviously have no interest in watching? Did Elon buy YouTube now (joking) or is YouTube just scraping the hate I have for Elon off of my phone and suggesting content I'm not interested in like a Twitter/TikTok duo?

I have ad-blockers and DNS blocking done through my local network, so it comes as a surprise to me. Guess I need to finally swap to an Indivious or Piped based app (Currently using a custom YT app that blocks ads and incorporates sponsorblock + Return YT Dislikes cause F Google)

@KiltedQueer i do #follow people only because of their content. If they follow me back, i may feel a bit unwell, because i would like people to follow me because of my content, and not because of politeness. Only if they are interested in what i show or say #interaction develops. There is no #algorythm to be fed, it's just an exchange between humans.

I'm part of the #TwitterEvacuation problem so I've decided to pay my way. Only a couple of quid a month mind - let's not get silly.

I'm enjoying the base #principles of how Mastodon works as much as being here. I was never a heavy user of #Birdie but I feel much more #comfortable here. I'm really coming round to the notion of spending a couple of quid a month on a #federated social media that I'm comfortable with instead of being a commodity that the #algorythm pokes to force a reaction.

I’m surprised to see how aware people are of the twitter #algorythm. In almost every post about moving to the #fediverse it’s mentioned as an important difference (which of course it is): in the fediverse you have to boost to give a post more attention, on twitter it is decided by a magical AI.

What surprises me is that it seems like people were strategically taking this algorythm into account whenever they liked or boosted something. Which is very complicated, if not impossible.

@Andreadaumas I actually get more interaction here than I ever did on #twitter, despite the smaller audience. Maybe you need to use more #hashtags in your toots, as without the #algorythm, you ain't gunna be surfaced as easily.
