I think the coolest thing about this year’s convention was not even a convention activity. When our sponsor chartered a bus to take 30 Muslims and non-Muslims to the Clearlake Islamic center for the event, no one was left out. One of the staff members Told the bus driver to park the bus and come in to enjoy the dinner and event with us. #AlHamdulillah for being a part of such a caring community.

I had to place my infant son for adoption 24 years ago because I didn’t yet have a diagnosis of #Autism and I had no idea why I could not cope at all as a #Mother. Now I do.

Assembling #IKEA #Furniture today as an #Autistic person, and it's worse than usual. Normally I'd ask my #Granadino handyman / consultant to put it together, but he is on the sick list at the moment.

The wood pieces in the kit weren't machined very carefully, and just getting all the little bitty dowels to line up simply to fit larger pieces together is really hard.

So I'm asking #Allah SWT for a lot of help and I'm making progress. Might actually get it done!

A couple of years ago, prior to my reversion to #Islam, I would have been a crying pile on the floor by now. So it's important to note: no tears yet today! #Alhamdulillah.

February 1 is #WorldHijabDay and, without even knowing that, I'd prayed for guidance this past weekend and it felt right to try out #Hijab in public all week. So here I am, a #Revert from the UnitedStates in #Andalucia, very happy to be a #Muslim. #Alhamdulillah !

I am #ActuallyAutistic and as such I can get very easily frustrated with fiddly things, so the one-piece instant hijab works really well for me. With all the great #Muslimah educators online, however, I'm going to get a little more adventurous Insha Allah.

This week I took refuge in a local hotel because my poorly insulated apartment building was not up to the task of keeping out the wind and cold.

As of this week I might move to an apartment a friend manages until things warm up a bit.

#Alhamdulillah that it wasn't nearly as cold this time last year when I first arrived, because I would have panicked as to what I had gotten myself into. Everything here is far easier to navigate now.

Last day of #nanowrimo2022 !!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! I reached my goal of 20,000 words a few days ago #alhamdulillah 😄 Now I'm shooting for 30,000 by the end of day today! Almost there! My biological son, with whom I recently reestablished contact, is an actor and singer... and he's good at both. I know, I know, he's my kid. But he really is good.

And he loves Brazilian music, wants to do a proper duet of "Girl From Ipanema" with a partner, AND knows who #GalCosta was. That last bit blows me away.

Of course I want to give myself credit but I really can't. But it is lovely to see traces of oneself in one's children anyway.

I'm gearing up to renew my longterm #Spain #Visa, and the process is a lot easier than the initial application.

Last year at this time I was two weeks away from getting my visa. The process of document gathering was long, confusing, costly, and labor-intensive, and I had no idea whether the visa would be approved.

Fact is, the consulate in Mexico City approved my visa the very day I brought in the last required document.

Thank you God I'm here in Spain. Fits me perfectly. #Alhamdulillah

Doctor said: nothing he saw indicated any serious problem. A few little issues here and there, not clinically significant.

It's interesting, because more than one clinician has heard that murmur. But I don't think my man today missed anything.

Allah at work? Of course, always, but maybe, specifically, on this issue too!
