I'm still trying to figure out why #Alien Isolation isn't really working for me. I think its two things: a lot of waiting around for the alien, Joes, etc to move out of the way, and the ever-present threat of quick or instant death. The intensity is too high for too long, and it becomes exhausting, not scary. Once I've beaten the story, I'll try Survival mode and see how that stacks up, but I'm kind of tired of hiding in lockers 😅 #alienisolation

Love the look of Alien Isolation.

On sale cheap on PSN, but it is still just the PS4 version that doesn’t present any benefits when being run on PS5. While it still looks fantastic I’d have loved to have seen just what bumping it to 4k60 would have done.

1080p30 as is.

Still, for the $6 I paid I can’t complain.

#AlienIsolation (2014) is one of my favourite games and it’s the first time I’m trying it on #SteamDeck

It’s incredibly efficient with 60fps and max settings still giving 3.5-4 hours battery life.

Besides being a great stealth horror game it’s a real love letter to #Alien. The brief prologue is set in a perfect recreation of the spaceship #Nostromo from the movie.

I managed to get an extraction of all the SFX and music from #AlienIsolation. It's all unlabeled with numbered filenames, so I just have to listen to each individual clip.

As an #Alien game, there are a lot of "scare chords" that play for jump-scare situations.

Ok, expected.

ALL of these clips begin with several seconds of silence. Just listening to the scare chord clip is, itself, a jump-scare moment! :angry_laugh: Probably a tech reason, but I like to think the devs were having a laugh.
