Gorgeous movie poster for Stronger than Death (1920) directed by Herbert Blaché and starring the great Alla Nazimova.

It seems that a print of this film exists in the George Eastman Museum Film Archive but alas it hasn't been released!

The 1921 silent version of Camille starring Alla Nazimova and Rudolph Valentino has been overshadowed by the 1936 Greta Garbo filom. The 1921 version is in many ways a much more extraordinary movie.

It's a bizarre masterpiece, but it is a masterpiece.

The real star of the film is art director/costume designer Natacha Rambova. It’s one of the most visually stunning movies ever made
