Right, time to put the 3rd kind of eye drops in my eyes, and start the evening audiobook running. And then it's just my ordinary eye drops as I wake during the night.

Allergy season will pass soon.

Back from the #optometrist, with another medicated eye ointment to help with the allergy eyes. Also getting the lenses for my everyday graduated glasses remade (again) with a stronger reading script, and my reading glasses lenses will also be remade. Decided the leave the same reading script as before in my sunglasses, as I’m unlikely to be reading a lot in those.

I’m very lucky to have such a caring optometrist and lovely optical dispensers. Yes, my glasses were expensive, (I went for cheap frames, but got the best lenses I could afford) but the service has been outstanding.

Day six of allergy eyes.

I have now got fabulous healing “allergy shiners” - great big bruised looking patches around my eyes, from all the swelling. And they are still itchy and the skin is all flaky. Oh,, so attractive.

And did I have any moisturiser in the house I could use on my sore eyelids? Of course not. The very last of my good lanolin ointment ran out yesterday.

So this morning I had to buy eczema and psoriasis cream, (it stinks, but it seems to help), and sensitive skin moisturiser, and a new face cleanser, because even the “gentle” one I had felt like dishwashing detergent on my poor, raw skin.

Since Wonderdog is also suffering from the blasted #privet, we asked the vet today about options for helping her, as well. Turns out the cheapest and most effective treatment is to keep giving her fexofenadine (telfast) 120mg, but try her on a morning dose as well as the evening tablet. She’s a big doggo, (chunky, even, sadly), so she can handle that much. The other choice is still under patent and very much more expensive, and it’s better for skin sensitivities caused by grasses, anyway.

I will be very, very glad when the privet stops flowering!
