I love plants. I love trees. But for about two weeks a year, one particular tree, our beautiful native black cottonwood, tries its absolute best to murder me. Even before I saw it start to fall, like allergenic snow, I felt the effects in my nose. #Oregon #AllergySeason

This afternoon the car I was in passed some trees that were shedding their Spring blossoms. A few tiny pink petals came in the open window and landed on me, so I picked them up and played with them because tiny soft pink petals are delightful. They were pale, almost white and they felt like rubbery silk.

Anyway, my eyes have been itchy ever since and around midnight I had a huge asthma attack so now I'm pretty sure those petals tried to kill me with a slow death by pollen.

Oh the struggle today is REAL, my friends. I don't feel as good as I would prefer (as much as I love spring time, it's rough living in the area of the country with the highest recorded pollen count!), and it's also Friday. I have 30-odd books to read and evaluate over the next 3 weeks, and feel like I'm falling behind on everything (this feeling is not reality). I have found that I’m more sensitive to molds since moving back to Texas, but I must deal with that year-round.

Almost through a box of tissues and remembering when, as a little kid, my first ironing chore was ironing my dad's handkerchiefs. Maybe I should invest in some. #AllergySeason

I'm doing much better this summer, and without pills. It was just a matter of finding the right vitamins in the right doses. I'm just shocked that I was was never told.
