We to , to .

Inadvertantly by choosing to open and allow...

We choose WHAT we open to, and WHAT we allow.

The issue is that due to inexperience in the ability to discern, we may not recognize what we are opening to or allowing.

Until we do.

These are concepts my dear friend @KeithJChouinard speaks about which have provided much clarity in my own life. You should follow him!

Reflecting, naturally on the work year almost gone, and I’m very thankful for the team in which I work and what we’ve been able to achieve for our colleagues and our organisation. Like most small teams we have limited time and resources but with some planning, advocacy, infosec-targeted funding and a lot of hard work we’ve been able to implement for all our Windows servers and clients and roll out new, hardened clients to all of our small state government agency staff. The improvement in our security posture has been the most significant in the entire (long) time I’ve been there while providing a great user experience. We couldn’t have done this without a limited but not insignificant injection of targeted state government funding and some great technology partners in and . But most of all we relied on our team’s passion for our organisation and our hard work. So many small teams work together to achieve great things for their org, their colleagues and their customers. Much of this is invisible or little understood. Many of these teams, mine included, aren’t interested in overt recognition but are driven by their own dedication and pride in the quality of their service delivery. So I guess this ramble is long way of saying, here’s to those teams and people out there making the world a better place, in big and small ways. And I hope we all get to enjoy some peace and reflection and satisfaction. To those of you who are not looking forward to a rest over the next few weeks, I see you and salute your dedication.

@INTERPUNCT I guess it really depends what people want. Findable vs not so findable. But should be author's choice, per toot or per searcher or globally.

For now, and I'm sorry I'll stop

The to these into the country.

As Michelle Brané argues, it doesn’t have to be this way. .

Why is it so hard to try, test or use secure services locally (eg SSL, HTTP2, etc)? What can we do to improve that?

AKA the "-insecure-localhost in Chrome doesn't appear to do anything" toot.
