That's completely different. So I called back, said that clause doesn't apply. Now they are helping me fix it.

I'm still livid that they tried to say it was not a covered problem. But at least my microwave might work.

The protection plan was $65. They will do whatever they can to keep from covering a problem.

You have to push back.

Anyone know why #StateFarm & now #Allstate pulled out of the #CA home #insurance market entirely, instead of just jacking up premiums on the highest-risk policies?

A 4-BR in The Sunset or a high-rise in downtown LA don't have *zero* #climate exposure, but it's nowhere near what an exburban mcmansion or rural farmhouse would have, right?

"Sir, your insurance premiums are not a savings account."

Homeowners insurance policy renewal came in and Allstate wants almost 50% for zero change in coverage. What the hell is up with that? This feels like a blatant cash grab wrapped up in "inflation" nonsense.

Time to start getting quotes from other companies. Maybe I'll find out they all raised their rates accordingly since last year 🫣
