In this 1999 episode, Margaret sues her health insurer, which refused to cover infertility treatment for her because she's queer. This fictional story reflected real-life conflicts at the time involving health-insurance discrimination.

It still annoys me that I was never able to watch the 2nd part of the #AllyMcBeal / #ThePractice crossover. THE PRACTICE first ran over here on a station that I couldn't get (also not parallel to ALLY, so the episode aired years later) and it never really caught on. I think Germany never saw the James Spader seasons. And of course it's not available for streaming anywhere.

Man, rewatching #AllyMcBeal made me realize what an awful friend Renee is. She's constantly mocking Ally (even if she didn't deserve it) or emberassing her in public by mentioning private and confidential things.

Started to rewatch #AllyMcBeal and I am surprised how I was as a teenager not at all bothered by all the romance plots, but now as a 40 years old man I'm all "Cut that lovey dovey crap and get back into the courtroom, dammit!"
