we're on the same page about Prince. really, Prince is a phenomenal musician and has a bunch of albums that could be considered #AlmostPerfect. I picked Dirty Mind based on preference, it's a quick album without a bad track, very accessible and poppy. Purple Rain could very well be on the list, so could Love Sexy.

Sign is like SP's Melancholy, it has so many good tracks but a lot of "skips" as well, which is usually the case for double albums.

#AlmostPerfect s1e13 (1996) - 9/10
Very, very funny; clever.

1️⃣ Mike and Kim are being stubborn about not caving in, and calling the other one first. Resulting in some elaborate cons. Which escalate until the audience isn’t sure anymore what is or isn’t true.

2️⃣ This works really well because the core romance is so strong now. Also, Gary and Patty are doing the exact same thing. Which leads to the episode’s hilarious final joke.

#AlmostPerfect s1e12 (1995) - 8/10

1️⃣ Mike’s sister visits, stays with Kim, runs off to Vegas, marries Rob.

2️⃣ Sitcom episodes driven by a guest characters are hit-and-miss. This one integrates the regular cast really well. Kim drags Neal and Gary (the show’s two funniest characters) to Vegas to search for the lovebirds.

3️⃣ Broadway star #SusanEgan (also of the 2000-2002 #NikkiCox sitcom #Nikki) will return to the show one more time as Katy.

#AlmostPerfect s1e11 (1995) - 8/10

1️⃣ #NancyTravis and #KevinKilner are great together. This episode largely hangs on their considerable chemistry, as Kim and Mike are goofy on painkillers and lying around the house. Scope for some nice physical comedy, too.

2️⃣ Back at the workplace, #DavidClennon continues to make a great impression (and almost steal the show) as dark oddball Neal.

3️⃣ The relationship is nicely written here, and the ending is very funny.

Very funny.

1️⃣ The previous episode was driven by the romance. It could have been any sitcom. This script, however, doubles down on the things that are unique to this show.

2️⃣ Mostly set in Kim’s workplace, it still integrates the love story and gives #KevinKilner lots to do.

#AlmostPerfect s1e9 (1995) - 6/10

1️⃣ Back in the ‘90s, I managed to record 33 of this show’s 34 episodes onto VHS. This was the one I missed. So, I held off on a rewatch until I could find it online.

2️⃣ It’s part 2 of a 2-parter and it’s a pretty average episode, running on the fumes of the previous chapter. It sends the characters to Las Vegas.

#AlmostPerfect s1e8 (1995) - 8/10

1️⃣ All the best/funniest scenes are the ones with #LisaEdelstein as Patty and #ChipZien as Gary. In sharp contrast to our smitten protagonists, they are a couple who fight all the time. And their dialogue is hilarious.

2️⃣ This constant bickering spills over into the romance of Mike and Kim. But the battlegrounds they fight on (salaries, children) are too cliched to make much impact on the viewer. Still a funny episode, however.
