I'm on the last quarter of #AloneWithYouInTheEther by #OlivieBlake and wanted to post to #bookstodon since it is #WorldBeeDay and the book does have some buzzy boi tie-ins.

A character describes bees as "a godless society of women" and I think that's pretty great.

I'm listening to this as an audiobook, it's a really neat production with two narrators that isn't overly dramatic. For me, listening to books instead of visually reading them makes me slow down and appreciate the imagery more, and I find that's true here. Sadly, it makes it more work for me to pull quotes, so you'll just have to believe me that the details peppered in here are great.

Also, I really appreciate the realness of their love and their limitations.
