Really glad for the #WatchDutyApp. Today’s alert is for a fire called #MillardFire, in Altadena near Lake Ave and Alta Loma.

Here’s the view of the smoke taken from the area near Mausoleum / Mountain View Cemetery, and several flight paths from the several choppers flying around the site of the fire.

Found a dead bird this morning here in #Altadena CA. Probably a goldfinch and “fresh.” So called the West Nile Virus hotline to report it. They had me bag it and leave it for pickup and testing. They’ll call if it tests positive. For those in #SoCal it’s good to remember that this service is available and helps us combat the problem.

On the way home from my son's soccer practice we saw a fluffy Samoyed like dog running in traffic. Seemed to have a reflective collar. Pulled over and called it, it looked at me and thought about coming but then ran past and around the corner... We couldn't find it after that. Pasadena Humane says they can't respond til morning... Poor pup. #straydogs #altadena

Good morning #SoCal! We got a little over a 1/2 inch of rain overnight in #Altadena but the #SanGabrielMountains got snow.

I was in #Pasadena this morning for my son's baseball game - a beautiful day for a scrimmage, gettin' practice reps.

We were right below - 2K feet below, tbh - #InspirationPoint, which is a terrific hike that involves the old Mt. Lowe railway. I remembered making my way up Castle Canyon, a "trail" built for 🐐🐐 more than humans. I lived in #Altadena for a little while, and I was young and fit enough in those days to run up to the Point.

Great memories on a gorgeous day.
