I think I was supposed to do this when I first got on, but better late than never!
I study #19thcentury and #20thcentury literature, primarily #Victorian #aestheticism and #decadence and their afterlives. I also study #lgbtq studies, #queertheory, and #aesthetics. I wrote a book called Before Queer Theory: Victorian Aestheticism and the Self, and I’m currently working on Decadence, #Race, and #AlternativeHumanisms. I teach at American University, where I am associate professor of Literature.
