Sun is out - new cyanotype prints! This one is inspired by the Wilson cloud chamber and cosmic rays. A Wilson cloud chamber is basically a tank of condensed, supercooled water (or alcohol) vapour. It is used to detect high energy particles - ionizing radiation. …

I'm so happy to announce that I'm going to have an exhibition of my alternative photography work. It will be held in Kielce, Poland from 28th April to 16th June. It is a larger exhibition of authors from all over the country working with alternative and historical processes.

The paper comes from the small workshop that makes paper for calligraphy and painting.

"Harts Hill Tree". An ink transfer made using synthetic Yupo "paper". The ink can be manipulated quite easily on this material, sort of like a polaroid transfer can be manipulated before drying. The downside to this is that the ink never fully dries and remains in a perpetual state of tackiness. After a few months, I give it a few coats of a protective spray which helps. #AlternativeProcess #PrintMaking

Most of the ink transfer prints I made were (and are) for a specific project. This one, however, is a bit of an orphan. I made the photo on the north coast of Prince Edward Island Canada, just a short walk from my cottage. Unfortunately, this rock formation was destroyed in September 2022 by Hurricane Fiona.
