AmpereOne no longer uses stock #Arm #Neoverse cores. Instead, a custom core designed by #Ampere. It still uses Arm ISA, but it is Ampere’s core. The core features 64KB 4-way L1 data cache per core, 16KB L1 instruction cache per core, and a 2MB L2 cache per core. AmpereOne will cover 136-192 cores, leaving #Altra/#AltraMax to core counts of 128 and below. The cache is doubled. PCIe Gen5 doubles the bandwidth.

Schon ärgerlich, daß ich mit der Null-Sprengung von Altra leider gar
nicht zurecht komme, gerade weil die Teile ungewohnt bequem sind und
unlängst die 7er Lone Peak mit einigen Verbessrungen zum Vormodell raus
kamen.

Wirklich ärgerlich, aber meine Füße sind über die Jahre - leider - zu
sehr an die 12mm Brooks-Sprengung gewöhnt worden. Leider... 🤔

@phillipjordan Hah, I don’t know about skill — more like ideas plus perseverance.

I started making my own footwear out of desperation, bc everything I could find to buy hurt my feet…except for #Altra Ones, which were NSFW being bright yellow athletic shoes (which #Altra doesn’t make anymore; #Altras these days all seem thick-soled).

Interestingly, my feet have changed shape so much since I stopped wearing conventional footwear that now I can’t even wear shoes that I made several years ago.

Are any 5k road runners in the #Fediverse wearing #Altra shoes? I’ve tried #Adidas and #NewBalance but I like the idea of more cushioning to protect those soles - and a fellow Parkrunner who has plantar problems suggested Altra.

A beautiful and foggy morning for a #trailrun. Stopped for a brief chat with these two. I've had a pair of #Altra lone peak 6 shoes for over a month and love them. Probably the best shoes for a few years. Do you have a favourite bit of kit?

This second week has been a lot more hectic, but managed to squeeze in enough to keep up progress. I've been low on sleep, and this has without a doubt had an effect. Still, ended strong with both VO2Max and Running Index trending upwards.

Next week I'll be travelling, so need to be realistic around expectations. Considering the #altra lone peak 6 for the rocky/dusty trails here.

Did you know that your feet swell from walking a lot? I’m historically US10.5, but on a whole day walk the other day my toes were scraping the front of my feet really uncomfortably. So I decided to pony up for a US11.5 shoe for an upcoming multi-day hike. Hopefully I can Carousell the older one. I like #Altra shoes because of the wider toe box that allow your feet to splay and the zero heel-to-toe drop (how our feet stand barefoot anyway).

Yesss my #altra shoes came in the mail. Was on discount from a store in Thailand, thank Shopee.
