It's about the use of OCR readers like newocr.com to extract as much text that is shown on an image. Although not perfect, a quick solution to use als AltText.
The original post seems to be deleted. But with Re: Toot I made this image of my bookmark and got texts.
Do you have any more tips?

Interesting!
๐ accessability:
https://nolanlawson.com/2023/01/09/retiring-pinafore/
"I started off with a basic intro to screen readers from Rob Dodson, played around with VoiceOver and NVDA, (..)
Iโve made a lot of progress in the past five years, (..)
In the end, I found accessibility to be quite rewarding. Rather than (..) it feels like a fun challenge. In some cases itโs just about leaning on existing web standards, (..) it feels like youโre building a parallel semantic UI to the visual one."

Re: Toot
AltText is not Alt Text ๐
It's a bit confusing, as the Re: toot app talks about Alt Text, it seems to refer to all text from a post.
But what I call AltText can fortunately be copied, see previous post of this thread.
The app copies that as at the end of the status text as an image description.

AltText indicator! Gives a red line on images when no AltText! Helpful for evaluating whether to boost a post.๐
Only on desktop, when activated by the admin of your instance. It is done with "custom CSS".
But the Tusky (app for Android) is also making an indicator.
Found this in post from @collinpurrington@flipping.rocks
With helpful information about the CSS info from @nev

I have just startend a new account to collect more info and tips about apps: @AltTextFeatures.
Before I went to sleep I saw your question wich triggered that, I think.
Because: which other apps or browsers have also edit features? What are the strong features of each? How can we share this and find it again?
Got ideas and couldn't sleep because of that. I just gave in. ๐

I use the Tooth! app to edit my posts. It give also a reminder when posting without AltText.
In edit modus I delete my image. Add it again and give it the new AltText. But I find it handy to make my AltText first in an app for notes.
Because I don't like it that with a little tap in the wrong place I have to start over all over again. โ๏ธ
Plus, this way I build some standards to use in future posts.

AltText Features:
I made this account because ofmany questions how to edit posts (and also correct of add some AltText), ot how to show the AltText etc.
I want to centralize the info over the apps and browsers. Focussing on the strong features from each app. Some related subjects are also welcome.
But how to keep oversight?
Use hashtags like this:
#AltTextFeatures
#AltTextEdit
#ATF(NameOfApp)
The last when the focus is on strong features of certain apps, Please!
To be continued..
