#reading Ursula K. le Guins #ursulakleguin book #alwayscominghome which is offering me a playful look into a future though a non-narrative arc. An epic adventure in world building, with fully formed languages and houses and rituals. Gender roles are toyed with, #anticapitalist themes abound, and #morethanhuman relationships shape songs and ideas. The structure of the book tests my attention while also inviting me to create my own vision of the future.

#AlwaysComingHome I'm pretty far behind. About 1/5 complete but I'll continue reading this through June.
@polymerwitch@sunbeam.city I started reading in April before I saw your prompt, so I've made it pretty far but will likely fall behind because I'm a slow reader :-) I really enjoyed the spiritual quest of Part 1 of Stone Telling, where North Owl "comes home" in a sense, with her interactions with the coyote and the spaces around Sinshan. I also liked how the people today are described as backward-headed; so true! #AlwaysComingHome
Just got to page 25 with the condor. It reminds me of the time when I came across one. I was maybe 9 or younger at the time playing outside in Arizona between two single level apartment buildings when I saw it's shadow. It spanned the entire courtyard between the buildings and got closer and closer. I ran and hid under a overhang and it eventually flew away. I didn't know it til later but he was swooping down to grab me. I never saw the bird itself because of the glaring sunlight that day, but I will never forget that shadow.
Anyone else visualizing the heyimas as earthships and the homes as cob / adobe?
Testing out #Resonate. Ursula Le Guin's #AlwaysComingHome album is on there!

@polymerwitch@sunbeam.city I just saw this and was immediately stoked. How do we participate (besides reading)? I'm guessing post with your @name and an #AlwaysComingHome tag? Perhaps a "Book Club" CW?
