Had the second raptor incident of the year last night. Around 21:00 the budgies started kicking off, behind a curtain, crept up and parted the curtain to a female Sparrowhawk perched on a deck chair, looking quizzically at the budgies.

Hi @bps_artish we moved back to Scotland last year, tot a very rural location and we're totally loving it. The nearest town is and we quickly discovered the a pretty walk following the Alyth Burn which has carved its way deep into the rocks, there's now a ravine surrounded by trees which, as it reaches the town, passes by the remains of an old mill. Great for peace, tranquility, bird spotting with a bit of ruins thrown in AND, there's a for a cuppa after 👍 🥰

Forest walks. Yesterday we walked in the Den of Alyth, a deep gorge filled with mixed forest and Alyth Burn and managed to photograph my first young Dipper being fed / taught to feed itself.

Big beautiful visitor. This gorgeous Missile Thrush has just appeared over the last couple of days and today, for the first time, didn't panic when I set up for the shot. Feeding young I'd guess, hopefully, they'll turn up one day soon.

Staying with the 'pecker theme, a pair brought their young to our feeders last year, three, I think. There's a pair feeding here again and I think the youngsters tried but got driven off!

When we first moved here the woodpeckers were exciting, a breath of fresh air, they still are and watching their behaviour is wonderful. This is common behaviour ....
